Terms of Use
Effective 27 June 2026
These Terms govern your use of The Small Business Digest (sb-digest.com), including the website, the newsletter, free reader accounts, downloadable resources, and the "Perks" section. By using the Digest you agree to these Terms.
1) Who we are
The Digest is operated by Luca Bonura Onlinehandel (sole proprietorship), Große Bleiche 5, 65719 Hofheim am Taunus, Germany. Email: info@sb-digest.com.
2) The service
The Small Business Digest is a free, independent publication providing news, guidance, and resources for small-business owners. We may add, change, or remove features (including the newsletter, accounts, resources, or perks) at any time.
3) Editorial content is information, not professional advice
Our content is provided for general information only. It is not professional, legal, financial, tax, or accountancy advice, and should not be relied on as such. Laws, figures, and thresholds change; always verify against official sources (e.g. gov.uk, HMRC, or your own qualified adviser) before acting. We are not liable for decisions taken based on our content.
4) Free accounts
Reader accounts are free and sign-in is passwordless (via a link sent to your email). You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure and for activity under your account. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms.
5) Newsletter
By subscribing you consent to receive the newsletter you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
6) Advertising, sponsorship & affiliate links
We keep editorial independence separate from commercial content:
- Sponsored / advertising content is always clearly labelled ("Ad" / "Advertisement feature" in the UK; "Anzeige" in Germany).
- The "Perks" section and some other links are affiliate links: if you sign up or buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes our editorial judgement, and partner relationships are disclosed.
- Adlarion is a founding partner and advertiser. Adlarion content is labelled and is never presented as an independent verdict.
7) Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the Digest unlawfully or to infringe others' rights; scrape, harvest, or systematically copy our content; attempt to disrupt, attack, or gain unauthorised access to the service; or republish our content without permission (see Section 8).
8) Intellectual property
All content and materials on the Digest (text, images, layout, brand, and logos) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other rights. You may read and share links to our content for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, or redistribute our content without our prior written permission.
9) Third-party links and offers
The Digest links to third-party websites, tools, and offers (including in Perks). We are not responsible for third-party content, products, or practices, and your dealings with them are at your own risk and subject to their terms.
10) Disclaimer & liability
The Digest is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content is complete or current. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from reliance on our content.
11) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms; the effective date appears at the top. Material changes will be notified where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12) Governing law
These Terms are governed by German law (excluding its conflict-of-laws rules). To the extent permitted, the courts of Frankfurt am Main, Germany have jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence remain unaffected. The governing language is English (a German translation is provided for the DACH edition; in case of conflict for German consumers, mandatory German-law protections apply).
Transparency: The Digest is reader-funded and earns a commission on some perks - always labelled “Ad”. Editorial is never for sale and is written independently of any partner.
