About The Small Business Digest

The Small Business Digest is an independent publication for people who run small businesses in the UK and Germany. Our writers cover marketing, money, AI and tools, and law and staff, and every article follows the same editorial standards set out on this page. Who writes and who decides

Every article carries the name of the writer responsible for it. You'll find all of them on our Writers page. Nothing goes live until the editor has read and approved it.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to scan sources, research and prepare first drafts. People decide what we cover, check the facts against the original source, and approve every article before it's published. AI never publishes on its own.

How we make money

The Digest is free to read. Some of the deals in our Perks section earn us a commission if you sign up. The commission never decides which deals make the list. Later we may add clearly labelled sponsorship to the newsletter.

Partners

We work with a small number of partners, including Adlarion. Every partner is treated the same way: no preview of our stories, no say in what we cover, and anything paid for is clearly labelled.

Our editorial rules

No advertiser or partner sees a story before it runs, and no story is written to please one. Every fact, figure and deadline comes from the original source, and we link to it.

When we get it wrong
